Midas microbes

Through "Midas microbes" collection I would like to direct recipients' attention to the the increasing problem of using up our planet's natural resources. One of the most promising avenues, preventing using up these sources involves using large swarms of microbes to process and recover minerals. Other approaches include engineering microbes using Synthetic Biology methods to increase their mineral processing capabilities. Once they're readily available and perhaps found outside of labs, factories and mines, these bacteria might be used for non-industrial purposes and perhaps to rebuild planet's natural resources of gold? I created this collection inspired by those "Midas microbes" - bacteria that can grow gold.
